What is the difference between a lineman and an electrician?
2025-08-08
While both work with electricity, their roles are distinctly different. An electrician primarily installs and maintains wiring systems inside homes and buildings, working with lower voltages. A lineman, on the other hand, works on the high-voltage transmission and distribution lines that carry electricity to our communities. This work is performed outdoors, often at significant heights on poles and towers, and requires specialized equipment for both overhead and underground projects. At Ningbo Changshi, our products, from OHTL wire cable conductor tension stringing equipment to underground cable laying equipment, are specifically designed for the challenging work of linemen.
